Union City HS Rooftop Field
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed renovations to the Union City High School’s rooftop field in Union City, NJ. Rooftop installations like this one are inherently challenging due to the limitations posed by restrictive access, egress and staging areas. In addition, special considerations for equipment weight/speed and project sequencing were needed to adhere to the structural safety plan. The scope of work included removal and replacement of the existing synthetic turf system with Astroturf Rhino series, installation of a newly designed center logo and installation of various athletic amenities/equipment like padding, portable batting cages, portable team shelters and three removable pitching mounds. This marks the second recent successful turf installation for Union City, as Keystone completed the replacement of Jose Marti field for the District in 2022.
