York City School District Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project for the York City School District’s multisport soccer, softball, and baseball field in York, PA. The school district boasts an extensive sports program that serves the city of York across 9 schools. This design-build project consisted of several phases, starting with the excavation of the existing grass field and the removal of pre-existing fixtures and structures. Next, a new stormwater drainage system was installed, and a newly constructed stone sub-base was laser graded. Following that, Keystone installed a new slit film synthetic turf system for the field. Additionally, new training events for discus and shot put were installed, along with paved walkways around the field.
Design elements include field markings for baseball, softball, and soccer. Additionally, new chain-link fencing has been installed around the fields’ perimeter, along with backstopping and ball barrier netting and roll-out fencing for baseball and softball. Dugouts were installed for both the baseball and softball fields. Musco sports lighting was then installed along with three scoreboards.
