Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Association
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed renovations to the baseball turf fields at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy in Washington, D.C. The Nationals’ Academy has served over 6,000 youth through year-round baseball and softball programs, and hosts high school and summer-collegiate games on its three-field complex. This project involved the indoor field, softball field, little league field, and the main field. The project was initiated with the removal and disposal of existing turf across all fields, along with reclaiming and recycling the existing infill. After laser grading the base, new dual-fiber synthetic turf with a thatch zone was installed for the infields, and slit film synthetic turf was installed for the outfields of the outdoor turf, while foam padding was installed for the indoor turf.  Design elements from the project include a home plate logo for the main field. Additionally, ball stopper netting, pitchers’ mounds, batter’s boxes, and catcher’s boxes were provided for the outdoor fields.
