Shikellamy
Area School District Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project at Shikellamy High School athletics stadium and running track. The Shikellamy School District provides educational opportunities to Northumberland County, Pennsylvania students, serving a district population of over 22,000. The stadium design-build project consisted of several phases, starting with removing the grass field and the pre-existing track. Asphalt was removed from the pole vault, runway, and javelin areas along with the grass field, and a drainage system was installed. A stone-sub base was installed and laser-graded before the synthetic turf was installed. Keystone Sports Construction then installed dual fiber synthetic turf product to ensure high-quality performance for the athletes. Pole vault, high jump, long jump, and javelin areas were then reconstructed. Two-component sandwich-style synthetic running track surfacing was added to the running track, high jump, long jump, and pole vault areas. Afterward, both track fencing and perimeter fencing were installed.
Design elements include a custom midfield logo, endzone “BRAVES” lettering, alternating green yard line panels, and sports lines for football, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. Additionally, the running track included custom coloring with blue exchange zones and “SHIKELLAMY BRAVES” lettering
