Project Summary
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a synthetic turf field replacement at The Park School of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. The project included SpikeZone Pro turf, a Brock SP17 shock pad system, school graphics, and markings for soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and field hockey.
The Client
The Park School of Baltimore opened in 1912 across from Druid Hill Park as Baltimore’s first nonsectarian independent school. It moved to its current Old Court Road campus in 1959 and continues its tradition of progressive education.
The Challenge
The project required preparation of the existing stone base and inspection of the field’s anchoring components before installation of a new shock pad and turf system. The replacement also incorporated multiple sports layouts, school graphics, and perimeter lane markings.
Construction Process
The project was initiated with the removal and disposal of existing turf, along with reclaiming and recycling the existing infill. A new Brock shock pad system was then installed. Keystone then installed the SpikeZone Pro synthetic turf system with thatch.
