North East School District Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project at North East High School athletics stadium and running track for the North East School District in North East, PA. The North East School District has a beautiful campus setting that includes four schools located just south of Lake Erie. The stadium design-build project consisted of several phases, starting with removing the grass field and the pre-existing track. Asphalt was removed from the pole vault and runway areas along with the grass field, and a drainage system was installed. A stone-sub base was installed and laser-graded before the synthetic turf was installed. Keystone Sports Construction then installed new dual-fiber synthetic turf with a thatch zone to ensure high-quality performance for the athletes. Pole vault, high jump, long jump, and discus areas were then constructed. Two-component sandwich-style synthetic running track surfacing was added to the running track, high jump, long jump, and pole vault areas. Afterward, perimeter fencing and Musco lighting were installed.
Design elements include a custom midfield logo, endzone “NORTH EAST” and “PICKERS” lettering, alternating green yard line panels, and sports lines for football and soccer. Additionally, the running track included custom coloring with yellow exchange zones.
