Conemaugh Area School District Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project for the track and field at Conemaugh Township High School for the Conemaugh Township Area School District in Davidsville, Pennsylvania. The district encompasses an area of approximately 53 square miles and serves the borough of Benson as well as Conemaugh Township. This marks the second phase of the Conemaugh Area School District Design Build. This design-build project consisted of several steps, starting with the excavation of the original grass field and milling and paving of the pre-existing track. A drainage system and a stone sub-base were then installed and laser-graded before the synthetic turf was installed. Keystone Sports Construction then installed new slit-film synthetic turf to ensure high-quality performance for the athletes. Pole vault, high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus throwing areas were then constructed. Two-component sandwich-style synthetic running track surfacing was added to the running track, high jump, long jump, and pole vault areas. Keystone also applied new asphalt pavement sealant on the existing paved areas surrounding the field, including the access way from the parking lot to the field.
Design elements include a custom midfield logo with “INDIANS” lettering, alternating green yard panels, colored end zones with “CONEMAUGH” and “TOWNSHIP” lettering, and inlaid sports lines for football and soccer. Additionally, the running track included custom coloring with red exchange zones. New chain link fencing was installed around the perimeter of the field, as well as new football field goals in the end zones.
