Calvert School Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project for the basketball court and turf field at Calvert School in Baltimore, Maryland. Calvert School, founded in 1897, is an independent, non-sectarian, co-educational lower and middle school and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools as well as the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools. This design-build project consisted of several steps, starting with the excavation and full-depth milling of the original pavement of the turf field, and milling and overlay of the pre-existing court. A drainage system and a stone sub-base were then installed and laser-graded before the synthetic turf was installed. Keystone Sports Construction then installed new synthetic turf padding for the field. A new acrylic surface coating was then applied to the freshly milled pavement. Afterward, basketball line striping was provided for the court, and a basketball hoop was installed.
