Blue Mountain High School Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project at the Blue Mountain High School athletics stadium and baseball fields in Schuylkill Haven, PA. Blue Mountain High School serves approximately 800 students from grades 9-12, providing a variety of athletic programs. The stadium rebuild project consisted of several phases, starting with removing the grass field within the preexisting track. A military grade bridge was used to transport equipment over the track to the field without causing any damage to the track. Asphalt was removed from the discus D-area along with the grass field, and a drainage system was installed. A stone sub-base was installed and laser-graded before the synthetic turf was installed. Keystone installed the premium AstroTurf 3D3 Blend to ensure high quality performance for Blue Mountain High School athletes. Asphalt paving and sand pit runways were then installed at the opposite ends of the field for long jumping and discus.
Keystone Sports Construction then started renovating Blue Mountain High School’s baseball field. After laser grading the base, the infield was replaced with AstroTurf 3D3 Blend, and a backstop net was installed. Additional fencing was placed around the field and stands, and a bullpen pitching mound was supplied. Additionally, Keystone Sports Construction installed the Musco lighting system around the field, providing the perfect lighting for night games.
Design elements include a custom midfield logo, end zone lettering, alternating green yard line panels, and sports lines for football, soccer, and field hockey. Keystone Sports Construction is excited to have revolutionized Blue Mountain High School into an unparalleled setting for sports and athletic endeavors.
