Mid Valley School District Design Build
Keystone Sports Construction recently completed a design-build project at the Mid Valley High School Athletic Complex. Situated in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, the Mid Valley School district serves students from Pre-K to 12th grade and is made up of various boroughs in the area. The athletic complex rebuild project included construction of a new softball field, baseball field, a battery of four tennis courts, and a multi sport stadium field for football, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. The project comprised multiple phases, starting with a drainage system for storm management. Followed by a newly constructed stone sub-base and laser-grading. Next, Keystone installed Astroturf’s premium synthetic turf system, Astroturf 3D3 Blend on all three fields, ensuring a top-notch playing surface for Mid Valley’s student athletes. While the tennis courts received a fresh acrylic surface and striping for tennis play.
Furthermore, Keystone Sports Construction installed newly paved walkways and parking areas around the complex, connecting the newly installed turf fields with the existing bleachers, field houses, and other facilities, and the athletic complex was enclosed with new perimeter fencing. Notable enhancements featured in the project included brand-new backstops, dugouts, batting tunnels, and electronic scoreboards at the baseball and softball fields. Musco lighting was installed at the baseball and softball fields and tennis courts, providing lighting for night games. The project also included the installation of an electronic digital scoreboard for the stadium field, and a freshly paved running track surfaced with Rekortan’s high-quality track surfacing material. The stadium’s existing lighting system was retrofitted with Musco LED lighting.
Design elements included a custom midfield logo, alternating green yard line panels, and sport lines for football, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. Additionally, the baseball and softball fields featured a distinctive spartan logo on the outer edge of the infield, adding a unique identity to the complex. Keystone Sports Construction’s attention to detail and encompassing services have transformed the Mid Valley High School Athletic Complex into a state-of-the-art facility, providing a superior environment for sports and athletic activities.
